Recently, Yutong successfully secured a deal with Suizhou Public Transport Co., Ltd. in Hubei Province for 120 units of full electric buses. After the arrival of this new batch of new energy buses in the city, more than half of the city’s bus fleet will be powered by new energy.

“We have finished our purchases for this year and the buses we bought are all Yutong E8. We have seen a remarkable decrease in our operating costs thanks to the high energy efficiency of Yutong new energy buses. Moreover, our passengers have also given us very positive feedback. We believe the introduction of Yutong E8 full electric buses will further help us cut our operating costs and provide more travel comforts for our citizens”, says Sun Rong, president of Suizhou Public Transport.

As the youngest city in Hubei province, Suizhou has been making all efforts in pushing forward the application of new energy vehicles. As early as 2014, Suizhou introduced 50 units of Yutong 10.5-meter plug-in hybrid buses. Last year, the city bought another batch of 60 units of Yutong hybrid buses. So far, eight AC recharging posts have been built. Another two recharging terminals with 16 recharging posts will also soon be put into operation.

According to the statistics released by China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), China rolled out a total number of 177,000 units of new energy vehicles and sold 170,000 units in the first half of 2016, up by 125.0% and 126.9% year on year respectively.
