The school buses handover ceremony jointly donated by China Song Ching Ling Foundation and Macao Foundation was held at Yutong Industrial Park, Zhengzhou on January 11, 2013. The representatives of the recipients received the golden keys symbolizing the 40 donated school buses at the ceremony.

The frequent occurrence of school bus accidents in recent years aroused public concern amid all circles of the society. The action of the two foundations made the school children in remote areas have the access to school buses. Zhang Haoran, the seventh grader of Zhumadian No.2 Junior High School, is one of the representatives of the recipient schools. “I like them so much. They will facilitate our commuting between home and school and bring us the safety and convenience,”said Zhang excitedly after seeing the bright yellow new school buses.

During the ceremony, Chang Rongjun, vice chairman of China Song Ching Ling Foundation, and Lin Jincheng, vice chairman of executive committee of Macao Foundation, passed through the golden keys to the representatives of the recipients. “As a special administrative region of China, Macao is always concerning the education and health undertaking of the underdeveloped areas in the mainland. In future, the Macao Foundation will further increase the support and investment in the charity undertaking of the mainland,” Lin said.

It is reported the 40 Yutong school buses would head for 26 poverty-stricken areas in 8 provinces of Shaanxi, Gansu, Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan, Hunan, Henan and Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region to ensure the transport safety of children to and from schools. All the distinguished guests and pupils, escorted by related Yutong staff, boarded the school buses and took a test ride after the conclusion of the ceremony.
