106 units of Yutong new energy buses were ready for operation in front of the Great Hall of Tianjin on March 15, 2011. Tianjin Public Transport Group held a ribbon-cutting ceremony of twelve-meter buses newly purchased in 2012 here.

Yutong new energy buses put into Tianjin market in batch

In 2011, together with other vehicles of five brands, one Yutong ZK6108CHEVG1 hybrid demo bus went on trial in a test route for new energy vehicles in Tianjin. Ultimately, Yutong bus stood out in terms of fuel economy, low failure rate, high reliability and so on. Tianjin Public Transport Group started the procurement of hybrid buses for 2002 through the bidding on November 20 of 2011, and Yutong got the order of all the 106 buses with the excellent performance of its new energy products.

This model of Yutong new energy vehicles can use flexible way to fulfill the target of high thermal efficiency and low emission under different working conditions. Compared with other conventional vehicles of same kind, it can cut the fuel consumption by about 30 percent and its emission reaches Euro IV standard. Meanwhile, the adoption of continuously variable transmission can greatly reduce the labor intensity of drivers and ease their operation as well.

Many adaptations have been conducted according to the requirements of the customer. For example, the adoption of new-style aluminum alloy material for hand rail, reduced height of horizontal rail, increase of hand ring number and so on facilitate the standing of passengers in buses. With optimized air conditioner system, the even temperature distribution in the bus makes passengers more comfortable. In addition, the 12-meter long bus provides a sufficient space for carrying 80 to 90 passengers.

The launch of this big batch of hybrid city buses became a sensation in the local area of Tianjin. The mayor, vice mayor and secretary general of municipal government were present at the ceremony and many media covered the event with special reports.

It is learned, to better implement the project of public mind of the municipal government, two thousand city buses are expected to be added in Tianjin in 2012.
