The 53 Yutong school buses are produced strictly in light of the national standard GB 24407-2009 for school buses. It is also the first time to use school buses in batch on Qinghai-Tibet Plateau after the national standard for school buses came into effect on July 1, 2010.

Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is a high-altitude area, featuring complicated road situation. Besides, the gasoline of ordinary vehicles can not combust completely due to the thin air and low air pressure, and vehicles are inclined to stall. Therefore, the Education Bureau of Lhasa attached great importance to the solution of the issue while purchasing school buses. Early in the phase of engineering, Yutong has conducted some modifications based on the special environment of Tibet area, easily addressing the problem. Meanwhile, Yutong referred to the design of demanding American school buses while engineering. These school buses have surpassed the safety level of national standard and become the most advanced school bus in China.
